A law degree from the University of Texas School of Law set Richard on a 15-year path of practicing business law, including five years as the general counsel for the largest health alliance in the U.S. He split the next 15 years as an executive with two Fortune 100 healthcare corporations; one as General Manager with total P&L responsibility, and the other as a strategic account leader, representing up to $10 billion in annual sales. After retiring from the corporate world after 30 years, Richard pursued an equally impressive second career as a financial professional, which eventually led to him becoming part of the Wealth Enhancement Group team. Richard’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable resources for both his team members and their clients.
Along with his wife, Glenda, Richard has lived in Houston since 1998. They have four sons and five grandchildren. Richard has been active in the community as both a board member of his local homeowner's association and as a volunteer counselor for SCORE, helping small business owners successfully grow their businesses.

Armed with a Finance and Economics degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and a hunger to learn more, Derek began his financial services career in Houston in 2015. His hard work and dedication were soon recognized and within a year Derek was asked to participate in various leadership programs. These programs helped him to sharpen his professional focus and long-term vision and set him on a path that has led him all the way to Wealth Enhancement Group.
As an Associate Financial Advisor, Derek is an invaluable link between the client and advisors. It is very much a “hands-on” role and fits perfectly with his energetic and service-oriented approach to the role. From an early age, Derek understood the value of mentors and role models and he had both in his grandfather, John Platt, a man who stressed the importance of having a plan, understanding your trigger points and knowing when to persevere and when to make a change. Outside of work, Derek enjoys reading, running, tennis, pick-up basketball, squash, and flag football. In fact, he actually played football in high school with Andrew Luck!
