PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA – The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has announced the election of Paul Brahim, Managing Director and Senior Vice President at Wealth Enhancement Group, as 2024 President-Elect. This appointment recognizes Brahim's unwavering commitment to the financial planning profession and his outstanding leadership.
As President-Elect of FPA, Brahim will be instrumental in guiding the organization's mission to empower and support financial advisors across the nation. Brahim will assume the role of President-Elect on Jan. 1, 2024, preparing to take the helm as President in 2025.
"Paul's leadership has been felt at all levels of the association, and his passion for financial planning is palpable,” said FPA President James Lee. “He will play an integral role in advancing the association's many objectives, especially for the legal recognition of the term 'financial planner' through title protection."
Brahim's contributions to the financial planning community extend beyond his role as President-Elect. He currently is serving a three-year term on the FPA’s board of directors. At Wealth Enhancement Group, Brahim specializes in working with C-suite executives on tax-efficient retirement and exit planning for business owners.
"We are incredibly fortunate to count Paul among our partners,” said Jeff Dekko, Chief Executive Officer at Wealth Enhancement Group. “I am confident that as FPA president, Paul will play a vital role in shaping the future of FPA and will use his leadership and experience to advance the financial planning profession as a whole."
Based in Pittsburgh, PA, Brahim is active in various charitable initiatives, including the Heritage Community Initiative and the Navy Seal Foundation. He is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College.
"I am grateful for this opportunity to use my case-making, consensus-building, and decision-making skills that I have accrued over years of work in financial planning to support our members and advance our primary advocacy objective: the legal recognition of the term 'financial planner' through title protection," said Paul Brahim, CFP®, AIFA®, CEPA® Certified Exit Planning Advisor. “I love the financial planning profession and, in partnership with the entire Board and staff, will harness our collective desire and skill to advance it as a distinct, true, and legally recognized profession."
