Julie brings more than 30 years of experience in senior-level operations management in the financial services industry. She has worked for independent advisory firms, institutional equity management, large brokerages, and private investment sponsors. She has developed rich experience in operations management, compliance oversight, strategic organizational management, and marketing throughout the investment industry. Julie joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Julie is a Colorado native with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University. She is a passionate advocate for children’s physical and mental health and has served on the board for Karis Community, a transitional living community for people recovering from serious and persistent mental illness.
When she is not in the office, Julie enjoys looking up a new recipe to cook or a new trail to hike with her husband and their two daughters.
Ross Fox brings to the firm over 30 years of experience as well as a passion for the capital markets. He offers clients a deep historical market perspective and insight into how the past relates to the current market environment. His expertise is diverse and extends from asset allocation and wealth management strategies to concentrated stock and portfolio risk management.
Throughout his career, Ross has cultivated close and productive relationships with clients and their families in order to help them realize the full range of objectives that are important to them. He specializes in defining immediate and long-term strategies that serve as a solid foundation upon which to manage portfolios that support current lifestyles while simultaneously building, directing and preserving wealth.
Before launching Cardan Capital Partners, Ross and the team were among an elite group of financial advisors vetted to manage money for the clients of other financial advisors and for the Merrill Lynch/U.S. Trust Company. He joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
In his spare time, he is an active participant in the Denver community, currently serving on the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center Board of Directors and has previously served on the Alzheimer’s Association Board of Directors.
Matt has been advising corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth families for more than 25 years. He has a lifelong interest in the global financial markets and economy, developing a broad and deep understanding of the myriad factors that drive investment performance. Matt also focuses on managing the team’s model portfolios and creating custom asset allocation strategies for our clients. He is recognized for his skill in constructing and managing our proprietary portfolios and tailoring investment strategies to enhance the fulfillment of unique, often complex, financial objectives.

Matt is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance at the Leeds School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is currently a member of the Denver Society of Securities Analysts and the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts. Matt supports numerous nonprofit initiatives.
Marti Awad has more than 26 years of experience working in the capital markets, first as a practicing tax attorney at one of the country’s top securities, mergers and acquisitions law firms and, for the past 20 years, as a private wealth advisor. Before that she worked in the tax consulting group of a national accounting firm. She joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Her tax and legal background, coupled with her deep investment expertise, place her in a unique position to advise clients on virtually every aspect of their complex wealth management issues. Marti specializes in holistic financial planning and works closely with our clients’ other advisors — attorneys, accountants and family office practitioners — to ensure that our collective advice is integrated. She is driven by a passion to assist our clients in defining and achieving their goals and, ultimately, to help design a legacy for future generations.
Marti is a dedicated member of the Denver civic and nonprofit community and has served on numerous boards and committees. At present, she is a member of the Boards and Directors for the following organizations: Metro State University of Denver Foundation (Treasurer) and WorldDenver (Treasurer). In addition, she serves on the Investment Committee for the Rose Community Foundation. Marti was appointed by Colorado Governors John Hickenlooper and Jared Polis to the Colorado State 529 Plan Advisory Board and currently serves as Chair. In 2015, Marti was one of 10 people worldwide to receive the Merrill Lynch David Brady Award for exceptional service to clients, collaboration with colleagues and contributions to the community. She was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a 2019 Outstanding Woman in Business in the category of Small Business Leader and by the Girl Scouts of Colorado as a 2019 Woman of Distinction. With a career that spans financial services, law and international affairs, Sarah brings deep knowledge to the firm. Sarah has worked as a wealth management advisor for more than a decade. Prior to that, she was a practicing family law attorney. This background has provided a unique view into the often-sensitive issues that come with growing, managing and safeguarding the wealth of family-based assets. Her experience and desire to provide exceptional service were evident in the relationships she built with clients and companies in her practice. Earlier in her career, Sarah worked with Fortune 500 executives to help prepare them for the cultural challenges of living and doing business abroad. She joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Jeff brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and has dedicated himself to understanding the needs and priorities of individuals and families. He focuses on providing clients with comprehensive financial advice and investment strategies designed to grow and preserve wealth. Jeff started his career as an equities trader for a small firm in New York. He spent 15 years developing and implementing trading strategies to accommodate market conditions and navigate risk during volatile markets. More recently, Jeff was a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, providing personalized attention and disciplined wealth-management strategies to individuals, families and corporate retirement plans. He joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Jeff and his family enjoy camping, hiking and skiing — and he enjoys talking physical fitness as much as financial fitness. Jeff has competed in several marathons, triathlons and ultra-marathons and counts finishing the Coeur D’alene Ironman Triathlon and the 2011 Leadville 100 Trail Race among his favorite athletic achievements.
David has an international and diverse professional background in education, technology and banking. He spent five years working in corporate banking for Citibank, first in Miami and then in Bogotá, Colombia, focusing on product management, business planning and financial analysis. David also worked on the sales and product team for the Search Advertising Division of Yahoo! In London, and taught English to high school students in Spain where he also continued his Spanish language studies through the Cervantes Institute. He joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
David provides investment research, portfolio analysis, portfolio management and trade execution support for proprietary model portfolios. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (“CFA”) designation. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance and a certificate in entrepreneurial studies. In his free time David enjoys spending time with his wife Claudia, their son Pablo and their dog Bella.
Kristen brings more than 12 years of experience working in the financial services industry with a background in both retail banking and wealth management. While she began her career in management at a retail bank, she later found her true calling and developed a passion for wealth management. She thrives on developing deeper relationships with her clients in order to help them achieve their short-term and long-term financial goals. Kristen assists clients in areas of financial planning, investment management, and retirement planning. Her approach begins by listening to her client’s goals and wishes to gain an understanding of what is important to them. She then analyzes their financial situation and develops a highly personalized strategy to help them achieve their goals.
She attended University of Northern Colorado, where she received her degree in Finance. She lives in a surrounding suburb of Denver with her husband, Dave and their daughter, Brooklee. In her free time, you can usually find her skiing, traveling, hiking with her family and their beagle, Aspen or cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Kristina has more than 20 years of financial firm experience — first in institutional commodities and futures trading in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, and later in wealth management. She has received several service-quality awards recognizing her outstanding, long-term relationship-building skills and ability to partner with advisors to maintain strong client satisfaction. She joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Kristina is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she received a full scholarship through the Evans Scholarship program and a bachelor’s degree in art history. She is an avid endurance athlete who has completed 66 marathons and 10 Ironman triathlons. Kristina now competitively races road bikes with a masters team in Colorado.
Eileen is a native Coloradan who worked at Merrill Lynch for seven years with Cardan’s founding partners before she was invited to be a founding member of the team. She assists with account administration and operational functions, including new accounts, online access assistance, statement reviews and client relations. She joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Eileen is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Contrary to popular belief, she and Matt Papazian are not married; they are siblings. While she agrees her big brother is a great catch, Eileen is married to another nice guy named Jeff.
Farren has more than a decade of experience in the financial industry that includes former positions at a hedge fund and wealth management firms. During her career, she has worked in compliance, portfolio investment, trading support and client relations. At Wealth Enhancement Group, she focuses on client relationship management and account services, and she assists with daily operations. Farren joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Farren is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy. During her collegiate career, she spent a semester studying Italian philosophy in Florence and was a member of the women’s varsity lacrosse team. She is a passionate New Englander hailing from Boston, but has enjoyed living in Denver since 2013.
Danby has over a decade of experience working in independent wealth management, with a focus on client service, technology, and communications. She previously held positions with two Colorado-based independent investment advisories, supporting client relations and back-office systems. Danby joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Danby received her BA in English Literature with highest university honors. Danby grew up in Durango, where she developed a lifelong love for exploring the outdoors on foot and bike. She also enjoys baking and time spent with her husband and son.
Claire has more than a decade of experience in the financial service industry that includes former positions at investment consultants, fund managers and outsourced chief investment officers. During her career, she has worked in client relations, marketing, event planning, portfolio investment and trading support. As an Operations Associate for Cardan, she focuses on the support of the client relationship management team. Claire joined Wealth Enhancement Group in 2021 through the Cardan Capital Partners acquisition.
Claire is a graduate of the University of Colorado Leeds School Of Business, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a focus on finance and marketing and a certificate in international business. She is a native to Colorado and enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys.
Bella joined the Cardan team in 2018. As Chief Morale Officer, she is responsible for keeping spirits high and stress low. She reminds the team that the simple things in life - such as pets, licks and an opportunity to play fetch in the office - are important.
In her free time, Bella enjoys going on walks, playing fetch and spending time with her humans - dad David, mom Claudia and grandparents Ross and Paloma.
