After beginning his career as a teacher and a coach, Stephen transferred his passion for educating others to the financial services industry. He worked as a representative of an insurance company and an advisor for a national investment brokerage firm before founding Wise Wealth, an independent, full-service, education-based, wealth management firm, in 2007. The slogan he developed remains his motto today: First Wisdom, Then Wealth. In his current role as a financial advisor with Wealth Enhancement, Stephen creates customized financial plans based on his clients’ unique needs and goals. He enjoys working with business owners, professionals, families and individuals who believe that wealth is a tool that needs to be managed wisely to produce the best results. He is more than a fiduciary; Stephen and his team believe in the timeless principle known as the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would want to be treated. He has built and trained a qualified team of financial professionals who share his values and philosophy.
Stephen is the author of the book, “Simplify Your Retirement,” and the founder of the Simplify Your Retirement® educational workshop. He has served as financial advisor counsel for the Insured Retirement Institute for several years. In 2022, he earned a national award, “Advisor to Watch,” for owning one of the fastest-growing firms in the industry (award was presented by AdvisorHub, based on 2020 and 2021 performance, and issued September 2022).
Stephen and his wife have four children and live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and is an avid sports fan. He’s active in his local church, several non-profit boards and international missions, and is also a significant contributor to many philanthropic endeavors.
