Editor’s Note: November 1 to December 15, 2016 is the official Open Enrollment period for 2017 coverage. If you don’t have health insurance through a job, Medicare or Medicaid, you may be wondering about your coverage options, which we’ve discussed below.

If you opt to seek health insurance through a state or federal health insurance exchange during Open Enrollment, first ensure that you qualify for coverage. Then visit this page to learn more about state-specific info. Some states have their own health insurance exchanges; others use the federal health insurance exchange.

In order to get a quote and to determine if you qualify for tax credits, you will be asked to estimate your estimated 2017 household income. If you’re unsure of how to calculate this figure, use this tool or contact your financial advisory team for further assistance.
