Wealth Enhancement Group, a Twin Cities-based wealth management firm, was awarded nonprofit BestPrep’s Humanitarian of the Year Award at its annual fundraising event, Birdies for BestPrep, at the Radisson Blu Mall of America on February 9. The award was presented to co-founder, Bruce Helmer.
For more than a decade, Wealth Enhancement Group has educated Minnesota youth on financial topics by partnering with BestPrep, whose mission is to prepare students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through hands-on experiences that inspire success in work and life.
Helmer said, “It is an honor to accept the Humanitarian of the Year Award on behalf of all the volunteers at Wealth Enhancement Group. The students aren’t the only ones that benefit from this partnership. Our volunteers truly love participating in these programs and find it to be a rewarding and gratifying experience.”
Wealth Enhancement Group supports BestPrep and Minnesota students through financial support and active employee volunteerism. Many Wealth Enhancement Group employees have engaged students as mentors, conducted mock interviews, led educational sessions, served as essay judges, and provided investment expertise. The firm has also been represented on the BestPrep Board of Directors for more than a decade, consulting with BestPrep’s marketing strategies and helping to secure financial support.
“Wealth Enhancement Group’s long-term commitment to BestPrep and educating students in basic financial literacy fundamentals has been truly extraordinary. We are most honored to present them with the BestPrep Humanitarian of the Year Award for their exemplary efforts and partnership,” shared BestPrep’s President and CEO, Bob Kaitz.
Additionally, as part of Wealth Enhancement Group’s “Your Money” Radio Show on WCCO, hosts Bruce Helmer and Peg Webb spoke with Kaitz on their Father’s Day show, promoting the importance of parents helping their children understand how to manage their money wisely.
The Birdies for BestPrep event raised over $68,000 that will go towards the nonprofit’s programs and preparing Minnesota students for the future. For more information about Birdies for BestPrep and its Humanitarian Award, visit https://bestprep.org/birdies.
